DANCE COMPANY

La Vie Company Information and Policies

Once you have auditioned for and been selected for the La Vie Dance Company, you will receive a detailed contract outlining expectations with specific dates, events, and costs; but we know you may want to know what you are getting yourself into (so to speak) before deciding to audition.

Here is some basic information about our 2022-2023 companies to get you started. If you have detailed information regarding specific company policies, please contact us to set up a meeting

ABOUT THE COMPANIES:

Premiere Company: This is a training company for less experienced dancers, or dancers who want less of a rehearsal commitment. There is no "ability level" requirement. Novice to Advanced dancers are welcome.

Premiere Company will be cast in a maximum of 2 dances, will rehearse 1-2 hours per week depending on ability level (in addition to regular classes) and will commit to 1-2 Saturdays per month for rehearsals, performances, competitions or master classes.

Premiere Company will compete at all regional competitions, National competition, and will attend TOP Dance Directive convention for learning experience.

Premiere Company members are allowed one solo, duet or trio and only in their second year of competition experience. Company directors retain the right to use duets and trios as part of casting to be included in the member's monthly fees, but may require lessons to be set up outside of company rehearsal time.


Premiere Company members will be required to take Ballet, Tap and Jazz classes. We highly recommend Tumbling. We also recommend dancers take class in the genres in which they are competing in. Depending on age and ability, some premiere members may be asked to take other classes.

Premiere Company fees are $75 per month and include all rehearsals, local performances, Company technique class on Monday, progress reports/conferences each semester, and studio swag surprises.



Ovation Company: This is a competitive company for dancers serious about dance training, but want a little less commitment to rehearsal time and fees. This company is open to all ages.


Ovation company will be cast in a minimum of three dances and a maximum of four dances.


Ovation company will rehearse a minimum of 2-3 hours per week and will commit to 1-2 Saturdays per month for rehearsals, performances, competitions or master classes.


Ovation company will attend all regional competitions and 1 national competition, TOP Dance Directive convention, and Hollywood Dance Jamz convention.


Ovation company members are allowed up to two “outside” (not casted) solos, duets, or trios as long as their attendance and work ethic remain acceptable. Company directors retain the right to use duets and trios as part of casting to be included in the member’s monthly fees, but may require lessons to be set up outside of company rehearsal time.


Ovation company members are required to take Ballet, Tumbling, Tap, and Jazz, and Technique based classes classes. Ovation company members are encouraged to take classes in genres in which they are competing in. Depending on age and ability, some ovation members may be asked to take other classes.


Ovation company fees are $95 per month and include all company casted rehearsals, local performances, Company technique class on Monday, progress reports/conferences each semester, and studio swag surprises.


Encore Company: This is a competitive company for dancers serious about dance training. This company is open to all ages, but dancers must be at an intermediate/advanced level and have at least one year of competitive dance experience to be considered for Encore membership.

Encore company will be cast in a minimum of five dances (there is no maximum).

Encore company will rehearse a minimum of 3-4 hours per week and will commit to 1-2 Saturdays per month for rehearsals, performances, competitions or master classes.

Encore Company members are allowed an unlimited amount of "outside" solos, duets or trios as long as their attendance and work ethic remains acceptable. The highest scoring Encore company member in attendance at auditions will receive FREE choreography for a solo of the company directors' choice. Company directors retain the right to use duets and trios as part of casting to be included in the member's monthly fees.

Encore Company members are required to take Ballet, Jazz, Skills & Drills, and Tumbling. In addition, Encore members must take at least three other classes at their level in a variety of dance styles (Dancers will only be considered for styles of dances in which you are taking classes).

Encore company fees are $115 per month and include all company cast rehearsals, local performances, Company technique class on Monday, progress reports/conferences each semester, and studio swag surprises.
